| You can always test the dye by doing the same around your exhaust tip.. Using the plunger and sucking in the exhaust gases from the muffler.. to obtain the color that you will be looking for. then just dump out the fluid.. and clean it out.. then refill and try the radiator again. There are many different ways that a headgasket to fail. But if you had white smoke out the exhaust and it ended up being the head.. Somthing was either wrong with the fluid.. or the stuff wasn't good quality. rule of thumb..
IF the color changes AT ALL.. even a little bit... remove the tester and start VERIFYING the test by allowing the tester to suck in fresh air for a min or two.. using the plunger ball. If it changes to the original color. Its a bad head gasket.
